What image formats are supported?

Will uncropping reduce my image quality?

No. Your original photo maintains its full resolution and quality. The tool only adds a new background around your image — it never compresses, re-encodes, or downsizes the original content. The downloaded file is saved as a high-quality PNG or JPEG.
What format will the downloaded file be in?

The downloaded file is saved in the same format as your upload, at the highest quality setting. The filename will indicate the format and the Instagram format chosen (e.g., photo-square.jpg).
Is there a maximum file size?

There is no set file size limit. However, very large files (50MB+) may take a moment to process in the browser. We recommend using your original camera resolution for best results — typically 10-20MB is perfect.

Which format gets the most engagement on Instagram?
